Get The 30% Solar & Storage Tax Credit
The 30% Solar Investment Tax Credit is Going Away!
Repeal of Clean Electricity production tax credit (PTC) and investment tax credit (ITC)
The House-passed bill repeals the major credits promoting clean energy generation and storage – the Clean Electricity Production and Investment Credit (section 45Y PTC and section 48E ITC). Changes made to the bill shortly before House passage made the phaseouts of the PTC and ITC almost immediate, nearly a decade before their planned phaseout.
If the bill is passed as written, this means that 30% tax credit that has made solar and storage projects affordable for homeowners will no longer be available after December 31, 2025 unless your system is installed and operational by that date.
If you have been thinking about installing a solar and battery storage system or upgrading your existing system, summer of 2025 is a critical time to get a proposal and set yourself up for maximum savings.
Negative policy changes like the removal of this incentive causes homeowners to rush to grab incentives which in turn creates a backlog of projects.
So if you are waiting for the final ruling on this bill you are already putting your project in jeopardy by waiting.
