Vehicle to Home - V2H

Use the Battery in Your EV to Power Your Home

With the Vehicle-to-Home Solution from FranklinWH

V2H, or vehicle-to-home enables homeowners to use the energy stored in the battery of a parked electrical vehicle (EV) to the home for use not only for backup power during a blackout, but also for primary power and home battery recharging in order to avoid high peak electricity rates. Unlike Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) systems that are designed to reduce costs for your local utility, this V2H solution is designed for homeownersr who want to reduce their utility bills.

Homeowners on variable rate plans that change based on time-of-use can use V2H to reduce their electric bills by tapping the EV battery for power during peak demand times when electricity from the grid is most costly.

When combined with rooftop solar, the EV battery can store excess energy produced during the day by solar panels, and that energy can be used in the evening to power your home.

FranklinWH recently introduced the first commercially available V2H solution that works with a 240 volt 30 amp output (currently Ford Lightning, Tesla Cybertruck, and GMC Denali/Sierra). The output from these vehicles can be plugged directly into the generator input of the FranklinWH battery system.
